Nas has never really fallen off. The only subpar album he ever dropped was 2000's Nastradamus. The rap Rudyard Kipling is one of the sharpest men in entertainment and has been as consistent as anyone can be.
Given that, his last few albums have been departures from the linguistic champion he is at his core. "Untitled" was weird and forced, while his work with Damian Marley was a good effort at pitting the dual worlds of reggae and hip-hop together.
With this track from his next album Life Is Good, however, Nas appears to be back on his A-game as a rap champion. And no bad thing! Hip-hop has had a renaissance of creativity in recent years and Nasir Jones, arguably the GOAT (greatest of all time), deserves to be at the head of the pack.
