• As Carl Roe's career accelerates, we're going to be focussing on him more and more. That means a full on feature interview with the Iraq veteran about his influences, creative process and more!

Suri and fellow Wesleyan alumnus Victor Vazquez (aka Kool A.D.) have delivered two free “mixtapes” thus far (Shut Up, Dude and Sit Down, Man) andaddedSuri’s childhood friend from Queens, Ashok Kondabolu or Dapwell, to spiritually advise and enhance the live set. They will be touring the US and other markets in support of the record throughout this autumn and fall.

Big K.R.I.T. Preps New Album With Tracklist And Album Title

After dropping to critically acclaimed albums, K.R.I.T. Wuz Here and ReturnOf4Eva, 2011 XXL Freshman Big K.R.I.T.has returned to work on his third official album. Yesterday, the Mississippi bred emcee, who is due to release visuals for “The Vent” off ReturnOf4Eva in the new week or so, took his Twitter account to announce the title off the forthcoming project and its release date.

According to Young Krizzle his Def Jam debut album will be called Live From The Underground and will make its way to all good music stores on September 27th, the same day that J.Cole is due to release his debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story.

Kanye West and Jay-Z Unveil Album Cover

Building off of the success of Eminem and Royce Da 5'9's collaborative album comes a similar effort by none other than Kanye West and Jay-Z called Watch The Throne. It looks like these guys are just playing around with the whole "illuminati" thing and having some fun with it.

It also looks like the album could be coming out in a strictly digital release:

So the idea is, Watch the Throne will be released digitally similar to Radiohead and NIN’s business model. This wouldn’t be too surprising, given Kanye and Jay-Z’s admiration for both artists. And what would be a grander way to release such a potentially immense album?
A writer over at Complex Magazine tweeted: “Kanye West and Jay-Z are about to pull a Radiohead. #watchthethrone #declarationofindependence.” But that is hardly a source. So at this point most of it is hearsay.

But regardless if it comes out on the 4th of July or not (we’ll know sooner rather than later) – a surprise digital release seems likely for Watch the Throne. When, is the question. We’ll make sure to update you guys if any legitimate sources actually come out confirming this. But for now, chalk this up as an enticing rumor.

Santigold Releasing Sophomore Album This Fall

Santigold has kept herself out there with collaborations with Beastie Boys and Karen O., but it’s time for a new record. Three years after her self-titled debut dropped, she plans to put out her sophomore album as the leaves change and the weather cools. Billboard got a few details on her vision for the new material:

“I wanted it to feel dynamic and powerful,” stated Santigold. “I still have the songs that sound very electronic and clubby, but I have a couple ballads on this one-- my own type of ballads, where they just sound big, like the way some old Kate Bush or Peter Gabriel songs were… on this one song, we did a whole section that has a bottle used as the percussion, so there’s layers upon layers of Greg Kurstin playing a bottle and literally filling it with different layers of water, and stacking each note. Mixed with a marimba and taiko drums!”

Also anticipate collaborations with Dave Sitek, Switch, Nick Zinner, John Hill and Ricky Blaze on the yet-to-be-named release due ambiguously this fall.

50 Cent Unveils His Album Plans

The G-Unit general took to Twitter to tell fans that his delayed album will hit stores this year.

After bringing his label woes to light, 50 Cent has revealed that his previously delayed LP will land in stores before the end of the year. Responding to fans on Twitter, the G-Unit leader revealed that the album will drop in November to coincide with the release of his new headphones line.
